Tsonga victory sparks £185,000 swing for William Hill

Thursday, July 7th, 2011

Bookies William Hill are cheering the Tsonga victory over Roger Federer, which saved a £55,000 payout on the big four being the final four, as well as a £130,000 winner on the match.

Roger Federer was as short as 1/200 with Hills after taking the second set with a number of Hills smaller punters placing fivers and tenners on Tsonga at 25/1.

We were desperate for one of the big four to fail today but never in our wildest dreams did with think that Federer would fail, particularly after being two sets up,” said Hill’s spokesman Rupert Adams.
