Watson and Robson have top spots in their sights

Laura Robson and Heather Watson both performed well in the opening round of the US Open and William Hill have released a number of specials about the two hottest prospects is British tennis. Heather Watson is 1/4 to enter the top 50 before Robson, who is 11/4 to do so, while Hills go 16/1 about Watson being world number 1 by the end of 2020. Laura Robson is the same price to do so.

“Despite the differing fortunes of Watson and Robson at Flushing Meadows, they have both shown that they have the ability to go far in the game and the odds indicate that we could have a first female winner of Wimbledon since 1977 sooner, rather than later,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.
