Australian Open Futures Starts 2012 Grand Slam Season

Australian Open Futures Market: Who will win the 2012 Aussie Open

Punters Think Andy Will Be Handy In OZ

Monday, January 9th, 2012

Andy Murray is 5/1 joint third favourite with William Hill to win this year’s Australian Open after victory in Brisbane. After a fantastic 2011, Novak Djokovic is the current world number one and 11/8 favourite to win the first Grand Slam of the year with Federer 11/4 and Nadal 5/1.

The gap between the top four and the rest of the pack seems to be widening and Hills are offering 4/1 that the semi finals are contested between Djokovic, Nadal, Federer and Murray. Hills think that, despite reaching the Australian Open Final for the last two years, the most likely stage of elimination for Murray will be the Semi Final at 13/8. He is 2/1 to reach the final and 16/1 to exit at the first round.

“The best of Murray’s form has often come in the Australian Open and he will be looking to go one better than last year,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

William Hill Odds:

Men’s Australian Open Winner: 11/8 Novak Djokovic; 11/4 Roger Federer; 5/1 Rafael Nadal; 5/1 Andy Murray; 12/1 Juan Martin Del Potro; 16/1 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga; 33/1 David Ferrer; 33/1 Milos Raonic; 40/1 Robin Soderling; 40/1 Bernard Tomic; 50/1 Tomas Berdych; 50/1 Janko Tipsarevic; 66/1 BAR

Big four to all make the Australian Open Semi Finals (Djokovic, Nadal, Federer, Murray): 4/1

Which 2012 Slam will Murray go the furthest in: 2/1 Australian Open; 5/1 French Open; 2/1 Wimbledon; 2/1 US Open

Andy Murray Stage of Elimination: 13/8 Semi Final; 7/2 Runner Up; 5/1 Winner; 11/2 Quarter Final; 13/2 Round Four; 9/1 Round Three; 12/1 Round Two; 16/1 Round One

Andy Murray to reach the Australian Open Final in 2012: 2/1

Hills Predict Vintage Year For Sport!

Wednesday, December 28th, 2011

With both the Olympics and the European Championships taking place next summer, your average sports fan would be forgiven for thinking that there is no other sport to be watched next year, but they would be wrong. William Hill are predicting a bumper year of sport. Andy Murray is 7/4 to win any Grand Slam this year and is 6/1 to reach number one at any point during the year. Murray’s good friend, David Haye looks set to re-enter the ring with Vitali Klitschko looking his most likely opponent. Hills make Haye 10/3 outsider to win the fight but he will be desperate to make up for his poor showing against the younger Klitschko brother.

Elsewhere, Hills think that it could be another record breaking year for Sebastian Vettel and offer 100/1 that he wins every Grand Prix, 5/1 that he scores more than 400 Championship points and 25/1 that he beats his own record of 15 pole positions in a season.

Judd Trump is the new golden boy of snooker and Hills offer 12/1 that he manages a 147 break at the World Championships and 40/1 that he wins the Masters and the World Championships.

“Not only do we have the London Games and the Euros, we have a whole host of other potentially brilliant sporting events coming up and we at Hills are certainly looking forward to another vintage year for British sport,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Roger Federer 50/1 for London Treble!

Thursday, December 1st, 2011

Roger Federer has set himself the target of a London treble next year, winning Wimbledon, the Olympics and the World Tour Finals in 2012. William Hill offer 50/1 that he manages to land all three titles.

“Roger failed to win a Grand Slam this year, but he clearly has confidence in himself to scoop three top titles in London next year,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “Should you have as much faith in him, 50/1 is a very tempting price.”

Is Roger back to his best?

Monday, November 28th, 2011

Roger Federer is 5/1 to regain his status as World Number One in 2012, but he will have to overcome both Novak Djokivic (4/6) and Rafa Nadal (9/4) to do so.

Despite a great end to the year, Hills are 4/9 that Federer fails to win a slam in 2012 and 11/8 to win one.

Roger Federer is possibly the greatest Tennis player of all time and if he can manage his timetable correctly, he could well win a Slam next year and possibly regain his world number one status,” said Hill’s spokesman Rupert Adams.

Wednesday, November 23rd, 2011

William Hill were saddened to hear of Andy Murray’s withdrawal from the ATP World Tour Finals in London but are pleased to announce that we will be refunding all stakes placed on the Scottish star in the outright betting market.

Murray was forced to pull out of the tennis season’s blockbuster finale with a recurrence of a groin injury he suffered in training on 14 November and will be replaced by world number nine Janko Tipsarevic of Serbia.

All other ATP World Tour Finals markets will be unaffected and stakes should be refunded shortly.
